Most people get prequalifications and qualifications mixed up. Pre-approval is the first step after you decide to purchase or refinance your home, this is done after your credit has been pulled , income, asset and liabilities verified etc.
It tells you how much money you qualify for and at what interest rate you can get that amount.

Getting pre-qualified does not mean that you have a loan, it means that you can qualify if you meet certain requirements.

You can get pre-qualified 3 ways.
